The Lakota Made Family
About Our Team
The Lakota Made team is a family-oriented group of dedicated individuals who are passionate about preserving and sharing traditional Lakota knowledge. Led by Owner and CEO, Megan Bull Bear, along with her brothers Mitchell and Michael Bull Bear, the team works closely together to create high-quality, handmade products in the traditional Lakota way. From crafting these products to running the successful ecommerce store, Lakotamade.com, and managing the retail location in Old Town Mankato, Minnesota, the Lakota Made family is committed to growing a thriving business rooted in culture, community, and family values.
Megan Bull Bear
I’m Megan Lynn Bull Bear, founder of Lakota Made and a member of the Kiyaksa Band of the Oglala Lakota Nation. Raised in South Central South Dakota by my parents—Nača Chief Bull Bear and grassroots leader Marla Bull Bear—I was deeply rooted in Lakota traditions from a young age. Inspired by their community leadership and my own learning from Elders, I’ve dedicated my life to preserving and sharing our First Medicines. Through Lakota Made, I craft small-batch, plant-based products that honor our culture, educate others, and support Indigenous entrepreneurs. My long-term dream is to establish a farm where I can grow traditional medicines, offer educational workshops, and bring our healing full circle—connecting land, culture, and community.
