Star Anise
Star anise is an evergreen tree native to southwestern Asia distinguished by its star-shaped fruit and is widely used both as a culinary spice and in traditional Chinese medicine. This herb is known for containing shikimic acid, a compound used in the oseltamivir (Tamiflu®), a medication used under medical guidance to manage symptoms of influenza A and B.
